Green Team

The Colts Neck Township Committee continues its commitment to a sustainable future through its adoption of the Colts Neck Green Team Advisory Committee (GTAC).  The most recent evidence of this continuing commitment is the attached Resolution dated January 29, 2025. The GTAC is composed of members (listed in the resolution) of the various Township Committees and Boards as well as residents of the community.

The GTAC strives to improve the quality of life for the residents of Colts Neck by researching and implementing activities and initiatives directed toward a more sustainable future.  The Green Team meets monthly in conjunction with the Environmental Commission to discuss the Sustainable Jersey Certification program and to assess the number of points we might achieve from our current activities and programs.  In addition, it is researching activities that would make Colts Neck more sustainable as well as count toward future points in the certification process.  The Green Team plans to apply for Sustainable Jersey grants to further these efforts to make our community more green and sustainable.

Along with other Township committees, the GTAC has engaged in various activities throughout 2024, 2025 and continuing in 2026 to achieve its goals such as seed give aways, sapling giveaways, paper shredding and prescription drug disposal program, all of which have elicited an enthusiastic response from township residents.

Green teams are an integral part of the Sustainable Jersey program, leveraging the skills and expertise of team members to develop plans, implement programs, and assist with educational opportunities that support the creation of a sustainable community.

The Colts Neck Green Team is made up of residents who are using their skills and expertise to develop plans, implement programs and create educational events that raise the awareness of residents to build a framework to sustain the character and environment of Colts Neck now and into the future.
